Every time I travel to London I'm inspired by the @Citymapper app. It's ridiculously good.
The UX is incredible, it truly amazes me how easily it makes moving through the city. Paired with iOS Live Activities it's even better.
and especially with iOS 18 with them adding all of the random little footpaths and things, its crazy. citymapper stays winning tho, couldnt live without that app
But those latter 2 were really long/complicated. So instead I looked on CityMapper & Google Maps, which immediately showed me that the best (step-free & fastest) route would be Victoria Line > Jubilee Line. It’s just very odd to me that the TfL app didn’t give that as an option.
Citymapper JC is a free app that provides schedules and stops for buses, PATH trains, ferries, subways, and Via Jersey City rides, with routes prioritized by user preferences like arrival times, walking distance, cost, and trip duration.
One of the best parts of our #Paris2024 experience was the team houses. We hit 10 - most of which were free. My favs were Switzerland, India, Belgium and South Africa.
Thanks to House Party Blog, @Citymapper and @KenHanscom for making it easy!
Mayor Fulop joins the Division of Transportation to launch Citymapper JC, a free app integrating all JC transit services in one location to help residents and visitors use public transport in and around Jersey City with confidence and ease
PRESS RELEASE: https://bit.ly/3WVYrXG
Citymapper is my anti-surveillance app of choice for bus and subway, but I'm starting to use it for bike rides also. The "Quiet" option looks promising. Car traffic and noise (especially horns) has been driving me mad.
Biggest drawback of Android phone vs iPhone is camera, right?
I've also gathered @MapsApple is superior for transit than @googlemaps, but @Citymapper has become my go-to transit app because it's up to date, while google maps can't even incorporate scheduled service adjustments.
#PARIS2024
Semoga satu hari bila pemimpin tua yg ckp kekerapan bas 3 minit tu terlalu kerap dah mati, Kuala Lumpur ada dlm apps Citymapper ni. Singapore is the first Asian cities included since 2015
Today is my auto-renewing subscription for @Citymapper, and it always feels so right to me to pay for this excellent service. The free plan is definitely enough for most people, but I can't be more thankful to them every day they help me on my journey. Kudos
Citymapper! @Citymapper
I'm not a New Yorker or a big-city girl and getting around via subway was intimidating. But a friend's friend introduced me and it was idiot (me) proof.
Tells you which corner to enter station and includes real-time train info. Big relief!
This app got me around, I was safe secure and at peace. I knew whatever wretched part of the city I was in, city mapper would find me the way home and now that I’m actually home, the app has stopped working and what do you mean it’s useless and I gotta delete it?
The only thing I’ll miss when I leave London in January after 20 years will be @Citymapper. It will certainly be a sad day when I come to delete the app.
In therapy today I mentioned @Citymapper and how useful it is for traveling. And my therapist asked me to repeat the name twice and in that moment I knew she was writing it down.
Boston’s @Amtrak South Station is a real gem. Has major European train station vibes with the shops and vendors, and even Japanese vibes with the bar having a camera pointed at the departures board
I saw in one of your earlier postings that you were having trouble with Google maps. Download the Citymapper app. Vienna is on it and more recently Venice. It’s very easy to use.
Highly recommend the app Citymapper. It gives 3 versions of all bike routes (normal, quiet, and fast) as well as mixed trips for metro / bus / bike etc. Including Cabi maps
This doesn’t help with Google Maps but
@Citymapper
which uses
@cyclestreets
for routing will suggest Barnes Bridge. As far as I can tell google will never(?) tell you to take routes on a bike that require you to dismount - but Cycle Streets is quite happy to do this.
That’s stunning news!
From experience, switching to the likes of
@Citymapper
has really made cycling in London much more enjoyable, so hope
@googlemaps
will catch up
